A Joint Programme of Friedrich Schiller University and the Max Planck Institute of Economics, Jena

The Department of Economics of the Universitšt Jena and the Max Planck Institute of Economics in Jena offer a distinguished PhD Programme in Economics to about 40 outstanding young graduates on a full time basis. The programme is international and highly committed to quality in teaching and research. All academic activities of the PhD programme are conducted in English.

PhD Applications

Applications are welcome from exceptional students with a Master's degree (or equivalent) in economics or related fields. Successful applicants are admitted as doctoral students on a PhD scholarship financed by the German Research Foundation (DFG) for 3 years.
